Student Life

ASP is an adventure
in community.  With roommates from different denominational, regional, ideological and sociological backgrounds, here's your chance to explore who you are as individuals and as a group.  Washington itself is a diverse community with a range of political views, ethnicities, incomes, religions and education.  Explore how different communities uphold or challenge traditions, add their unique voices to the public square and identify with multiple groups.  With each encounter, you learn a little more about the topics you're studying and a lot more about yourself and your own community.

Things to do

During the term you'll enjoy informal recreation and social outings. There are times for worship and special events organized by your colleagues for fun, relaxation, service and spiritual growth.

You can also take advantage of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, the Smithsonian museums, historic Georgetown and more.

Housing

At ASP, you live eight blocks from the U.S. Capitol and Supreme Court in a fully-furnished apartment for four to six students, complete with a well-equipped kitchen, a washer and dryer, a computer and free local telephone and voicemail service. Your apartment is in the Council's Dellenback Center, which houses a library, 2 lounges, and a spacious rooftop deck with a panoramic view of Capitol Hill.  The student lounge is equipped with a hi-definition, flat screen TV with DVR and dvd system as well as a student recreation room with exercise equipment, free weights and a pool table.
