Dori Read, Residential Life Director

 

Birthplace :: Lansdale, PA B.A., Human Development & Family Sciences

Dori graduated from Messiah College in 2003 with a B.A. in Human Development and Family Science. While a student at Messiah, Dori worked in Residence Life, both as a Resident Assistant and Apartment Life Coordinator.

Since graduation, Dori has spent her time living in Chiang Mai, Thailand and Los Angeles, California. While in Chiang Mai, Dori worked to support a local Thai church as they provided various outreaches to the community. Her time was primarily devoted to starting homes for underprivileged university students, working in a coffee shop that donated all proceeds to support the university homes, and teaching English, both in the classroom and on the radio. Between two long-term commitments living in Thailand, Dori experienced a very valuable time living in Los Angeles as the primary caregiver for her ailing grandparents.

She is currently working towards her Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy through Liberty University’s Distance Learning Program, with an anticipated graduation in 2010.  Dori is pleased to be a recent addition to the Council for Christian Colleges & Universities in Washington, D.C., where she is the Residential Life Director for both the ASP and WJC programs.
